There are moments as a photographer that don’t feel real. This shoot was one of them. After years of vague talk of doing a photo shoot, Matthew Mitcham was coming back to Sydney for a while. Matthew won the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 in the Men’s 10m Diving event. Robbie Manson who represented New Zealand in rowing at the London, Rio and Paris Olympics, was also coming back to Sydney. I had photographed Robbie a few times before but pairing him with another Olympian seemed too good an opportunity to pass up.The weather was wild, grey and wet but the guys were tough and on-board for the adventure.
